This was the only cop I saw on the entire ALCAN Hwy there and back....and it wasn't even real! LOL It fooled me at first bc it just sort of came out of nowhere. The speed limit was 100kmh the whole way......can't say I obeyed that much at all.

So I left for Calgary. On my way out, about 3 miles from the border, there was a little rinky dink gas station that was your "last chance for gas". I stopped to top off and went inside to pay. While I was at the counter I looked to my left. On the wall was these awesome Bigfoot cast foot prints. I just had to have one. Turned out to be the best souvenier on the whole trip! I don't necessarily believe in bigfoot, but it won't surprise me if one ever turns up. Something like that could totally live in these vast wilderness areas with no problems. It is kind of a family thing for us to watch the bigfoot shows together. So I had some fun with my 8 yr old showing him the cast. The look on his face at first was just classic. My shoe is a size 11.

So I made it across the Yukon and back into BC without anything interesting happening. I took the Cassiar Hwy down the West side of the Rockies. Really really really remote. Didn't have a cell signal for 10hrs. Went through only 3 little towns, and there was no signal in those towns. Once I made it down to Hwy 16, things were normal. I even found this wonderful stuff that the Rover loved.

After sleeping behind a gas station in Kitswanga, BC, I headed east on 16. Went to Prince George, then made my way back into the Canadian Rockies. I came across the Goat River and went back country exploring.

I'd never heard of it before. I'm more of a scotch and whiskey man. The "Glacier Fresh Beer" slogan sounded refreshing at the time, so I grabbed them.

I was eating an MRE and looking at the map. I look at maps a lot. Even at home. I just study them. The map was free from somewhere along the way. Is a "Milepost" map special or something?

Milepost is a very useful guide to Far North. I think this map was an insert to the book.

Scotch and whiskey are always good for the evening - in the morning or during the day, beer comes handy!
