there are hidden meanings behind the color of one's shoe laces? good grief...

No shit. I recieved my *education* in high school when I purchased a pair of 3 hole Doc shoes. I liked them for what they were, little did I know of any "hidden" meanings. If any of you are from or familiar with Philly, I purchased them at a shop called Zipperheads on South street. When I walked outside with my brand new shoes, I almost got my ass kicked by a group(3-4) nazi skinheads. I had no idea at the time that was a preferred shoe for them. WTF?
My earlier post was one of sarcasm, because I really don't get the whole *racist* thing anyway. I hate everyone equally.:D

While we are on the subject does anyone know what color shoelace color means " I am a French coed exchange student who would love to model my new expensive lingerie for you and get your opinion on me and my girlfriends kissing and touching each others special places" because I am not really interested in all the other crap that shoe laces might tell people, but I would pay attention to those.

I don't give a crap what people wear either, but anyone who is wearing red laces should be aware of the connotations it comes with.

Good grief. Lace laws..... hadn't heard about that BS in forever.

I've heard of Red laces meaning anything from Communist, Anarchist to WP and everything in between. It was different everywhere and who believed in what.

If you go spouting off about this means this and that means that, you might get into some trouble around the wrong people as they would take you as understanding their own "laws" and you might be on the other side of their beliefs.

In the Northeast (NH area), I've heard that Red Laces mean you support the French Canadian Secession effort and have spillt blood for the cause. Pretty heavy stuff mang. Or was it that you were an angry bacon eater.... can't remember now.

It's actually to show my loyalty to the Bloods. *throws up gang sign* (they wear red right?)

The best thing you can do is not wear laces at all. That way no one can get pissed at you for "supporting the wrong thing". ;)

The term "Boots and Braces" began with the black African gold and diamond miners. The working conditions in the mines were such that they rarely wore shirts and belts were not conducive to the hard work that was done.

Eventually, this came to be seen as anti-apartheid.

Somehow, the White Aryan Nation (it may have been White Aryan Race) picked up on it as THE sign of 7/14, along with the shaved head.

Summer before last, I went to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and Kid Rock-wearing my hair in the Mohawk. I was the hit of the skin head/white power folks there-LOL.

If they only knew my politics and social attitudes.

Well that's way off topic.... but that's pretty funny that any Skins would be at that show to begin with, racist or not.

Are there replacement parts available for those?

What are the typical things to look for when buying a pair of those (anything year specific)?

Any recalls out on specific models?

 All-terrain loafers!!! Now I know what to get Goose for Christmas next year. ;)

I saw those in a store and bought them, simply because they were on sale. Pretty tough, actually.

I don't wear shoes like that, though. It was just neat to have some with the Rover badge on them. I only wear shoes that extend above my ankles. Waste of time to have anything else for me, aside from formal shoes.

Cheers,
