For the record, the two wheels that may apply are:

'Style 3' Part # RRC002160MNH Silver Sparkle Paint
Comet 'Style 6' Part # RRC000930MCM Silver Sparkle Paint

These are very similar and often get confused, picture below:

Style 3 is #14
Style 6 is #16

Our D2 has them:

They were used mainly on the TD5 diesels, but a lot of people liked them so they started coming out for the V8's as well. they are 8J 16" rims.

Drillbit seperated a 4.6 crank from the pistons for me when he was trying to sell them as a set for more money. Got me out of a real tight spot and I appreciate that very much. Sorry about your bad experience OP but I'd still buy from him again. Sounds like a complicated transaction with lots of opprtunity for something to go wrong.

The comets are nice looking wheels too. But they are 18" and it's just so much more economical to have 16" wheels and tires, most of the time.

Mine are 16", 255-65R16 Nexen Roadian A/T's on at present. I looked at both, but we were getting rid of RR Sport 19" rims and tyres and went to 16" with the Style 3 rims. Had Pirelli Scorpions to start with, but they had very high wear rate, so tried Nexens and liked them.

Making up a second set so I can keep summer and winter tyres on. Got two extra spares, two more to find.

Usually a few on ebay now that the early cars are reaching the breakers.

Nexen rodians are on my D3 V8, they were there when I got it. It's time to replace them now. I don't think I'll get them again because I'm the 255/60R18 size they aren't the correct load rating for the 3. And I plan on towing pretty close to the limit (not as close as you get with you d2 though).

The Pirellis were 109T rating, the Nexens are a tad lower at 106T, but still within the vehicle ratings for tyre and axle weights. Insurers were happy too.

We've been out to a number of shows this year with the trailer and display engine, never a sign of any problems, although I got a nail in the rear n/s tyre this morning at the local ASDA food store (owned by WallyMart) :(

I'll be looking for a set of 16s soon if anyone knows of any. Preferably some G4/S style. Know UtahDog had some for a while, but he was quite a ways away from me.

Also I'll be needing a front set of brakes from Will--I see he's got his October special on.

Nobody gets it right every time.

Even Tillery makes a mistake once in awhile-although I am not completely sure of this, but I don't think he really is Jesus.

Marty will make it right, he always does.

I just want to say this guy had a point. He didn't have all his money back till after he opened this. I don't know how many calls I missed but I wasn't ducking him. UPS is going to pay me for the rims (which some crack head cousin of a UPS drivers is probably trying to install on a Caprice as we speak) I'm sorry this deal got screwy.
