I was poking around at other off-roading and LR forums today and checking some statistics generated by the ad and tracking blocker that I use, HTTP Switchboard.
Almost all of the sites employ third-party trackers and ad placement to generate revenue--at the expense of your privacy and browsing speed. Here's a comparison of their use on the various boards:

When I looked at my proxy server at one point last year, the DVD banner at the top was the longest cached file on the server, dating back 4 years. And as far as I know, I'm the only one at work who visits this site
I watched Brett try to find the handle to dispense paper towels for about 10 minutes once. i finally swiped my hand under it to turn it on. He looked at me and said 'does that noise mean it's out of towels.'.
So, heads up: I have signed up a CDN service (Cloudflare) for discoweb.org. Without getting too technical, CDNs are used by most major websites to speed up their sites by shortening the distance your web browser has to go to fetch our site.
Moving to Cloudflare will keep us safe from many hackers and spammers and should speed up the site a bit. It also adds SSL support if you care about privacy. If you notice anything strange, please let me know ASAP.
