Looks cool in a Defender Stormtrooper Edition kind of way....but why would you want one? Hauling manure on the farm in style? Those shortbeds hold a couple coolers and a bag of bullshit.
Two dirt bikes with the tailgate down and a bed extension is an attractive option.

I’m still trying to fall in love with the Tundra. But as PM notes, it’s a huge, wide, long wheelbase truck which is not good for tight trails where I spend the majority of my time.

I really like that rear door on the Smurf jeep. Wonder if you can get something similar for a Tundra and eliminate the drop down tailgate? That would up the love factor a few points.

Dude the great thing about the Toyota's is they are uber popular, so there's almost nothing you can't get for them.

If you don't mind the rear not opening.

RTTs are mainly for the girls that are afraid to sleep on the ground. I can see "feeling" safer if you're in lion territory or some shit like that, or if the ground is wet and muddy it would be nice to be up off of it. Other than that, the RTT is for the glory of showing off your RTT at all times and making your girlfriend happy.

I really want a RTT, it just doesn't fit my program. I have multiple tents, and every scenario in my head would have me giving things up to switch to a RTT.

But an RTT is like a tree house tent, and on wheels no less. And everybody love a tree house, just ask the on Discovery, or wherever, who's got rich building quarter million dollar tree houses for people with more money than brains.

Toyota guys love RTTs. Another reason the Tundra is failing to woo me during what I thought could be a summer of love. The LR4 is going in Monday for front diff replacement. Now that’s love.

I like the idea of a RTT, but not on a vehicle that I am driving and does not have stabilizers.

The other drawback would be a method easily get an large dog up there.

I had a roof top tent. The big old ARB one...it came with my Disco when I bought it from the previous owner. I didn't like driving with it, you could definately tell it was up there, especially on on/off ramps.

As far as use, it was a very nice tent and pretty cool in concept. I liked that it was off the ground so no fear of getting wet from the ground if tent placement is mis-calculated. What I didn't like:

- climbing down slippery ladder in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom
- when I camped and used the car during the day, settting up and tearing down camp each day was lousy. You also couldn't keep stuff in the tent like a little home base during the day while out doing stuff in the vehicle. Everything had to be in the car, or in ANOTHER tent to keep stuff in. What's the point of that?
- Packing it up wet, then having to unpack it and have my car sit out in nice weather with the tent setup to dry out after then trip. Somebody who just has one car would really be impacted by this.

I traded mine to a mechanic for a host of repairs I needed on my RZR and my Rover. He said he always wanted one. However, to this day, I don't think he ever used it.

I bought a Tacoma but I am far from a RTT guy. In doing so I considered my options and then did what was best for me. I could care less what others did with their rig.

If one caught their wife cheating on them they could decide to let her stay. Some would consider that "true love", others might consider it being somewhat misguided, or worse...
