I miss the good ol’ days. Definitely some characters on here throughout the years.
I can remember coming home and finding some threads had grown by 3,4 even 5 pages from the night before. Half of those posts would be the same three people threatening lawyers, duels, all manner of entertainment and nonsense.

One time Keneth got on here spouting off about how it’s ok that insurance companies are justified in not wanting to carry us anymore when we get older. It’s cheaper to insure a 18 yr old. He would start that shit cause he knew it would get someone pissed off. He lived for it.
If he lived for it he would still be here.

Kennith....I spoke to him a few times on the phone. He was unique, I will give him that. I didn't think he was a bad guy at all. Most of the time you'd just page down and down and down and just kinda skim his posts.

I started here in late 1999 with a post about how to mount an under-dash holster in my 1996 D1. Lots of freaky feedback because guns 'r bad, mkay.
I think Kennith is amazing. LOL. I can manage dealing with people with anal attention to detail and/or OCD.

I get along with most everyone these days, unlike when I was a semi clueless lib.

Spent hours talking to Kennith on the phone. Shared a lot about PC builds back when they were an art.

Oliveres, Rupp, Kennith all helped me mod my first Disco and I appreciate them

I’ve been following the message boards since I got my disco in 98. I’ve not been keeping up or know if any of the old regulars are around, somebody upstream said ptshram was gone… I need to go back and read this from the beginning.

Not surprising as he raved about how great his Evoque was.
As the new owner of a Discovery Sport we'll see how much raving I do about that. So far the only thing I can report is that I have been driving a 2025 D110 for two weeks while the dealer replaces a USB port in the Sport. No experience yet driving my own car, but the loaner has been fun. Still not sure if I'd want one, but it drives mighty nice and has some features I like. On balance I like my LR3 more.

We bought a 2018 D5 a few months ago and were just talking about how much we like it more than we thought we would. Initially we were going to get a V6 L405, but a high spec D5 is pretty comparable to a base spec RR and half the price. It's definitely ugly, but I think all new cars are.

e considered this as my LR4 gets higher in mileage, but the L405 keeps pulling me in

My daughter bought a 2019 D5, with around 50k mi. Near 65 kmi mark, I paid 3k to have all crossover pipes replaced and other work done. Under that supercharger, the pipes barely last half as long as in 5.0.
It has also been dinged from the front by a neighbor's wayward Mazda rolling slowly downhill. The exterior damage was naught - I popped the grille back and everything looked great. But it broke the front proximity sensor (which disabled cruise control) and ambient temperature sensor (which disabled A/C, in a black vehicle). The total damage, paid by the neighbors' insurance to some shop contracted by Hornburg, was about $8k.

I like nothing about this vehicle. It feels like driving an overpriced minivan.

Why in God's name would a software engineer tie all functionality of the AC system to knowing how hot or cold it is outside?

I know I'm too hot sitting in this damn car so let me turn on the AC you stupid 🤬 computer...

Versus an overpriced Defender homage?
I remember liking the L663's instrument panel and dashboard. That's where the love ended.

My only WAG is to make sure the refrigerant valves and pipes don't freeze solid.
But between this and effect of broken proximity sensor on piled-on ADAS functionality... it's just wrong.
