He did they claim thats how within their specs. They offered to send out another bullbar if he pays shipping, then he has to pay somebody else to cut off the old one weld the new one and re-powdercoat it.

Zoinks, looks like he's been Bottorfed!!

Thanks for the input guys. I mocked my bumper up over a week ago and have been in contact with Bill at Rovertym since then. My initial concern was the height of the brush because clearly it's too high. I called them and told them about it and asked for measurements and specs to be sure before I made any claims. He gave me measurements off of there CAD specs that showed it was supposed to be 16-1/2" from top of the bumper to top of the brush bar. Mine measured 17" which was within margin of error. He even told me they bent another piece of tubing to check the accuracy of their machines. but I still didn't like it because it still looked terrible. He offered to cut a brush bar to the height I wanted and ship it to me so I can have a local fab shop cut the old one off and re-weld the new one and gave me a few days to decide what I wanted to do. It was within those few days that I noticed the wings didn't reach the fender arch and the overall fit to the body was off. This time I called them AND sent them an email with photos of the bumper on my truck along with photos of another D1 with the same old style bumper to compare to. They responded to my email this morning and I called Bill after work and he agreed based on the photos the brush bar was too high and the wings were too short. He explained that the wings were cut short to accomodate a 35" tall tire and a larger wheel opening and the brush bar, though correct within their build specs, was ugly and need to be fixed. So they are getting my bumper shipped back them and have already started the process of building me a new correct bumper. I am even going to send them measurements for the brush bar height that I want and they'll build it to that.

I have had more problems with this transaction than just this one but I will say that Rovertyms customer service has been excellent throughout. They answered almost every time I called them, they answered all my questions, and done what ever they could offer to resolve these problems and keep me happy. Bottom line is they made some mistakes and fixed them. So I'm happy and will still do business with them. Thanks Dweb for the help. I started this thread to obtain some info and feedback not knock Rovertym for their screw up...... I was going to wait until they responded before I did that. :)

well at least they are fixing it for you

but I can't believe they consider that "within margin of error"

that's gotta be a classic bumper. the classic bumper wraps outside the fender, whereas the disco bumpers run under the fender. the old classic bumpers with full brush guard were pretty tall as well.
i have to admit, lately it is a bit confusing what is going on with rte...when john started it you dealt with john and john was building it. steve did good welding, jordan did good welding, there seemed to be very little mistakes in regards to orders.
personally, i have never had a bad experience with rovertym.

hell it looks like it would fit a super duty, a one ton perhaps or a UPS truck. the RTE bumper i have is the old style and it doesnt fit for shit... its for a D1 and it looked better on my classic. when installed it fit tight as hell driver side looks like yours and passenger side is damn near flush! top bar sits just below the land rover stickers on hood.

Thank you I was hoping for someone else's measurements to compare. Do you have any pics? I need to send them new measurements of the brush bar so they can make the next bumper the way I want it.

There is no way that's the right bumper. No way in hell. It just can't be. Nobody's measurements can be that far off.

Cheers,
