LOL. This is hilarious. So you're saying that your guess have been the same if my last name were Smith? I don't know who you're trying to fool with your comment above, but you're full of shit.

you didn't sense the sarcasm? if not you need to get out more often. my last name is Porterfield........can you guess where my relatives came from? one hint......we're not Dutch, but i do have a Chex Mix fetish.

Just about everything. :)

Many of us have had to learn to make our equipment multi-task since there are limits on what we can drag around with us in our trucks. I'm always on the lookout for ways to be more efficient. It would be nice to find out: what do you do with your cases besides filling them with stuff?

For instance:

I use my larger cases that have wheels for wagon use.

I use my small cases as tire chocks.

I use my large and small cases as tables and chairs. Really handy when I need to have a "workstation" for detailed jobs like soldering (I cover the case appropriately so it won't be damaged) or repairing electronic stuff.

On occassion, I've stepped my cases so that I can get something heavy to a higher area after applying leverage.

Since there are so many Pelican and Storm users here, I am curious to know what everyone is using their cases for. What do you put in your cases?
How dare you try to get this thread back on topic?
Now I have to substitute going to watch WWF Smackdown...or whatever it it's called.

Whoda thunk it - a question about luggage could of got up to 90 posts. Still not sure what the general concensus is on this one - probably best to go with what works for you. Pelican definitely has the brand name and warranty behind it and I'm happy with the ones I have. I haven't used the storm cases but I do have some Hardiggs and they are of good quality so I wouldn't of thought that they would put their name to something that was crap.

Gotta admit though this is a really entertaining thread :D

I've done quite a few odd things with a Pelican case. I've used one as a chair a few times, and a foot rest many times. I've smashed very large bugs with them. I found that the smaller models are functional wheel chocks in the field, which makes for a nice double duty addition in the cargo bay.

The absolute best use for the black colored cases is keeping airport security guards busy. :D They seem to love seeing whats inside them.

Cheers,

Kennith

"i have always had the best: izod, buster brown shoes, ralph lauren glasses, ford tempo GL"

Now that's a long list of things I wouldn't be caught dead in. :D The only thing you missed was a Cadillac hearse. If I can't have a Rover or a Buick, just leave me where I fall.

I'm a Levis 550 kind of guy. Give me some Ecco boots, a Wested Leather jacket, and one of my Nordstrom sleevless shirts and I'm happy. During the day, it's Revo and Ray-ban. Oh, yeah, and a Pelican case. ;)

Cheers,

Kennith

To me looks do not matter, brand does not matter. Cost and function matter a lot. There are more fun things to do than trying to be best.

In the case of pelican and storm cost is about the same, and functionally, it would really surprise me if there are serious functional differences, that remains an open discussion thread here, so it comes down to a personal preference.

Too funny. I passed an exact copy of that on the highway last night.
