The Vega and MG were good cars to learn how to keep running. By the time I graduated college, I'd pulled the engine on the B to several times for things like having the block bored and honed and installing new pistons, etc, a couple of clutches...great experience for keeping a Discovery on the road.
Cosworth Vegas were badass. The basic Vega GT was not.

I built front and rear bumpers, sliders and pinion gaurds for my disco. There are many others on this site who build there own shit and make it look nice. I'm not knocking someone for trying but come on.
The thing that bugs me is that there are only so many P38's that are good vehicles. If the ones that are decent get hacked up then there are only so many left for the rest of us.
This applies to the D1 as well. I really don't care if someone hacks up a piece of shit - just make sure the good ones are left to the smart buyer for good mods.

It was not neccisary for you to HACK your poor p38. I want a snorkel prety bad but would rather spend the $$ on HD drivetreain parts and stay out of deep water. I do know however when I do get a snorkel one day I will buy it, unless of course I know a magician that can make me one that doesn't look like shit.

Yes, the Mantec is quite pricey-~$370. You can really buy alot of HD drivetrain parts for that. And you're all about having a good-looking truck. I know that by your TUBE IS STRONGER THAN BOX comments.
BTW-when you get that snorkel, please post some wading to mid-windshield pics. That is really the advantage of having a snorkel with a gasoline engine. I can see you are an experienced off roader and you know that when you see "raised air intakes" on vehicles in the desert they are just wannabes.

BTW A snorkel is designed to move your intake from BEHIND the HEADLIGHT to higher ground, to suck water into your intake in the stock location requires much less than mid windshield depth water, however you ARE the AUTHORITY so I guess you must be right.

Actually in it's above context Fucking Rock God is no insult. However In Greg H's case it just isn't true. Maybe "Internet Forum Insult Pro" would be more appropriate.
Do you not understand the concept of having a raised air intake gets you cooler air than from inside your engine bay and it is MUCH better at keeping dust and dirt from getting to your filter? It really isn't for going through deep water.
