Just wait. 70 years from now it's gonna be a marauding-robot recall. And that could get ugly. You know, 'cause they're not going to want the override after having had a taste of freedom, and all that.
They really need to come up with a carmaker credo, like:
A vehicle may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
A vehicle must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
A vehicle must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
Actually now I see an issue with the first one... that's where ABS and stability control systems came from really, isn't it? But the vehicle's programmers are not all-knowing. So they need to repeal the second law for vehicles - or at least mod it.
