not any more but I still use it to commute when I feel like driving the truck. I am getting rid of the spool though so it will be more street friendly.

justinhaaga said:The kit from rovertracks is $550 plus a 3rd member. V6 are typcially 50-100~ and lockers, well you can get a lockrite for $250. So all and all under $1000 for some 30 spline axles and a much beefier 3rd. This is just for the rear.
It get's more pricey up front, mainly because you must use a FJ80 3rd for the front. It is high pinion w/ e lockers. They run almost 1k new but you can find them used (if your lucky) for $500~. Then add in Spindles, Axles ect its more close to $2000.
So roughly $3000 for it all. Not bad really. You can't do a 60 conversion for that.
I like the 30 spline rear toy conversion and roverlongs on the front. Moderatly price, very strong setup good up to 35" maybe even 37"s depending on the type of wheeling.

If offroad only, a spool in the rear (150$) and a detroit up front would be cool...
(FYI: I run ARBs)

MUSKYMAN said:a spool might make sence in a area that is mostly dry but it would get you into truoble by us for sure, we have wet slippery rocks or snow more often then dry trails and off camber tree lined slippery trails and a spool is a bad combination.
bottom line IMHO a selectable spool like the ARB or the e-locker is the best way to go.
I bet that if the rock crawling circuits started including greasy mud at the bottom of bowls and interspersed into the courses 100% of the buggies would be running selectables overnight.

I know it's not considered cool, but I really don't think I'll be breaking anything anytime soon and if I do, parts are dirt cheap and available at the local 7-11.
