Depends on what grease you use on your front propeller shaftrover4x4 said:What's the best motor oil to use with a 160 degree thermostat?

fwiw, i've been wheeling with the Rover crowd since 2001. most likely im just a disgruntled old fart now like garrett. just because my join date here is 2010, doesn't mean im new to this crowd. but that is a good assumption you made.
That's been done, I have a mag with the photo of LR3/4 on something like 52" rubber.LRflip said:All I want to know is who is going to put full floaters under an LR3?

I hope that's not meant as a recommendation, even though it is as far as Land Rover is concerned.Tugela said:the electronics eliminate much of the need for driver input.

Ho and Axel, wake up. This is why MAR has shrunk to nothing. SAE is off the map. CROC aint shit. National rally east coast is in Colorado.
Take control of this forum, before it is the laughing stock of the next forum, like LRO, LandRoverForums, etc.

I have a very strong policy of "no sales to someone who has a unsavory political system in their nickname" This includes Nazi Mike, Khmer Rouge Ken, and Dave the Plutocrat. When these people call me I just hang up the phone on principle. I won't compromise this, not even for Dave the Plutocrat and that guy is loaded.

seventyfive said:actually, you are correct. we purchased an engine and ecu from a vendor who sourced the parts from you. that vendor knew we specifically asked for a specific ecu.
we specifically said we need an '03 non-lev ecu.
first ecu was incorrect. i personally returned it via UPS to you.
second ecu was incorrect. it said right on the ECU 'KV', which is a freelander ecu. plugged it into the truck, read the vin, ran the vin, and sure enough it was a freelander ecu.
i once again personally returned via UPS to you.
third ECU showed up, and once again it was incorrect.
the confusion i have is this. Randy Williams, the actual vendor we purchased this through, said you told him you called me and talked to me about this. you never called me.
I resorted to calling Justin Monnin, since you two are friends, to see if he could call you and straighten this out.
the end result was me having to put the secondary air heads back on the truck, which equaled a good bit of time and money lost.
Randy Williams assured me, on the third and final ecu, you told him you personally went out to an '03 non-lev and pulled the ecu.
you can resort to name calling all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that you were involved in this transaction. i was unaware, at the time, this is not uncommon with used parts...vendor doesnt have something so they source it from another vendor.
instead of name calling, call me out and call me a liar that you were in no way associated at all with this transaction. call Randy a liar, that he did not source the engine and ecu(s) from you. call Justin Monnin a liar, that i never called him and asked him to call you and send another ecu out to us.
monday, i will call UPS and get the tracking information regarding the ecus i personally shipped back to you, properly labeled and bubble wrapped.
I've done a good job keeping that secret.kennith said:It's a good thing I stopped calling myself Divine Emperor Kennith the Fabulous.

I think in 5 or 10 years there will be a growing community of dudes like us who work on their LR3s and now have a more powerful diagnostic computer in their tool box. Will and Marty will be parting them. Ultimately it's still a vehicle with 4 wheels and an engine, the only difference is that some of the systems are more complicated and parts are more expensive. But those prices will come down.
