I got a grand new ARB 35l for $455 plus shipping on E-Bay last October. The seller was a company called Savanna Jones. There are deals to be had; must have been the right time of year.........

I remember seeing those deals! But, that price did not last long! BTW, there are still deals to be had in ARB's.....If I would have waited another 2-weeks, I would have saved $150.00 on the 35!!! But, that price is not public knowledge :) It's who you know, I guess....

My eyes are turning GREEEEN!!!! These engel/pelican pics are great....I want them both.

Oh, but since I've been unemployed for 6 months...haven't even gotten the LIFT yet. :( Keep it up guys, I enjoy seeing what the 'haves' have...while I'm one of the 'have nots'!!

Eric-smart talking about credit. I've got a little...had it almost ruined from a car wreck though (not my fault)...my sister had some major truble when she was fresh out of college.

Right now we've got a house and two (cheap) car payments...not too bad. I've got friends with $100K worth of school loans and they're teachers!!! WOW

I thought you worked at the bank, Sus?

Damn, all these neat looking trucks....My truck looks good now! But, compaired to the trucks seen, mine looks like a train wreck...Guess we know who uses their truck :D

And why do y'all mount your Engel way in the back? How do you reach your beer?

Ok Dan. First, because my truck is super clean doesn't mean I don't use it. Oh I know, you're gonna say it wasn't directed towards me but I think we all use our trucks. Sure some might use them more than others. Sorry If I like to keep the truck looking a little nicer inside than you. Second, not all of us need the road sodas. Personally I'm fine with some bottled water on the trail. I've got enough confidence, I don't need anymore.

Very cool! (Sorry I missed this earlier...I'm on a break from school)

Jeff-lookin good....any of the little improvements I can make (read: cheap) for now are welcome. We should all get out someday now that it's warm!

Steve-great place for it though. I've got a rattling glovebox that needs some paper towels! :)

Ho, what kind of light is that? Can you remove it and hang it elsewhere? I HATE the stock internal light in the back of the D1...so that might be an extra idea.

LOL, It was a joke....

My truck does not get to looking like that on the trail anyway. Well, maybe a little bit. Thats from the past week of hauling a big ass tent that got wet and muddy, a pressure washer, and two dirty tires. Plus, there might still be a little mud in there from MAR....

And who said anything about drinking on the trail? I was talking about my driveway ;)

So you sit in the driveway drinking Honey Browns out of your engel while looking into your garage and listening to the bass kickin'? Man I need to move to Virginia

Hey Sus, here are those lights. I had one until it got ripped off. That's the last time I help anyone work on their Rover. I do have to say that it is one kick ass light.

*EDIT: I got busted from the master speller himself

I have been pretty pleased with the Gulf Coast flashlight brackets...had some for two years now ; very durable AND I use them on my front license plate to mount on the roller fairlead of the winch so I can just pop the plate off and throw it inside--they fit a roller fairlead perfectly(we still use STEEL cable here in "ol Virginny !)

.
Well, you would have to live in West Virginia! Because here in Virginia, we know how to spell Virginia :D

And, since you asked, yes, I do sit in the driveway and drink, often! In fact, if I get bored drinking and sitting in my driveway, I'll head over to Noe's house, and drink in his driveway. Haven't you ever seen King of the Hill?

You think I'm joking too, don't you?

Ask Nomar what we did at his house last night!

Well, I'll go ahead and tell you....We sat in his driveway, drank beer, ate pizza, and in honor of Bill Burke, we used a Hi-Lift jack to remove a rear ball joint!

Still think I'm kidding?

Sometimes, if we get really bored, we'll drink A LOT, and do shit like this:

Why? I won't use steel just because of the safety issue. I don't want that steel comming straight at the windshield.
Pop your hood open....You just saved $300.00!

Only problem I have seen with the Syn. stuff, is it getting stuck on the drum, and not being able to spool out. I have seen it more than once....It may be safer if something breaks, but, I guess thats why they make winch weights.

From a straight line pull, yea, I like the synthetic. But, often, at least here, you drag your cable over rocks, stumps, trees, road, etc...and the syn. wears out quickly, and breaks often. Chafe guard or not, the suff does not last long. Steel will out last, and give you more of a warning before it breaks VS. rope. Plus, for what people are selling new, unused cable for now days, you can buy 6 cables for one rope.

I don't care if you use rope, string, strap, or cable, you have still got to be safe in doing so. The only plus I can see to the rope, is the weight. The safety factor is kindda BS to me. But, I have yet to see a cable break....Maybe that will change my mind
