Why not? Did you just move? Come to Oregon, you can pick up a registration with no I.D. on the day of.

That's not a bad idea if I weren't afraid of flying! lol

Moved to The Lou 2 years and 1 month ago. But I still show Florida registration for my vehicles because it's ridiculous expensive to have a car in Missouri. I even still have a FL driver license. I know, I'm very naughty. :) I have applied showing proof of local residence and they sent me a response letter saying I was registered. Then 2 weeks later I get another registration application. I applied again. Still haven't received a voter card, but then again I don't know if Missouri requires a card.

I will still show at the local poll booth with all utility bills, pay stubs proving local residence and ID and see if I get to vote.

I am a firm believer that every vote counts. I feel like going to the polls naked wrapped only in the flag. They still may not let me vote...but I'd be sure to end up on the news!!! ;)

reactionary and defensive? not sure. i think he just thought he could steal some of hilary's supporters. but he'll lose just as many for the obvious pandering. if mccain thought he was going to argue about the obama ticket lacking experience he just shot himself in the foot. today is a good day. mark it down. mccain officially lost the elction today.

Would you like to put a wager on that statement?

And I'd like to see Michael Fucking Moore ask Sarah Palin if she would be willing to enlist her own children to fight for our country in Iraq.

Too late Michael, her son is already going and they are PROUD of it.

As well as McCain's, one son enlisted in the Marine Corp and one in the Naval Academy. Bring it on Michael Fuckin' Moore!

Honestly, is there anything bad to say about her? How do you mock a mother of five with ZERO skeletons in her closet who has raised a son thats in Iraq fighting for our country? They may dig up a few things, but nothing that will stick or be worthy enough for people to give a shit about. I think her inexperience may actually be her biggest positive here. She's not one of the proverbial "good 'ole boys" that the dems claim represent 99% of the Republican party. She hasn't been around long enough! She has no record with any special interest groups, in fact, she stood up to Big Oil to protect Alaska's interests. She's attractive, she's fairly young, positive, energetic, she's a STRONG speaker, and she's not afraid to delegate to people. When she means business, you know it. She's not afraid to call out her own either! Bottom line is behind that pretty face, she's tough and when you hear her speak, you won't be afraid to say that she is not only a strong independent woman, but a strong independent VP who can handle herself in Washington.

I can't WAIT for the debates. Her performance in the debates with Biden could seal McCain's fate here. I'll be cheering her on.

Go read McCain's "Issues" section on the www.johnmccain.com website and you'll see what she brings to the table. What she has done in Alaska is very similar to what McCain has down on a lot of the different issues. So I'd say she brings strength and experience to what he wants to do.

Exactly Matt! She is a synergistic choice to McCain's beliefs especially when it comes to earmarks etc...

Cheers,

Mike

Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage.

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.

She supported nutjob Pat Buchanan for president in 2000.

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species.

I'm not saying a woman cant be a great vp or prez, but his choice seems a little obvious. Mccain will get grilled for this endlessly in next few months. Should be fun.

Aside from the kookie religious shit (and fuck the abortion topic, it's all a load of crap), I think I'll like this lady as next year's VP.

This is too important to trust to the mail. Is there a county voter registration office near you? You need to talk face to face to a human and get it straightened out.

Studying Greek culture is to study their religion. Almost everything taught about the Greeks incorporates teaching about their religion and especially their belief systems. I can't imagine people don't understand this.
BS. It's completely meaningless. You can say the same about any culture.
What I said was - the teaching does not have to be based on religion, while teaching about religion.

RBBailey said:
Explain this and I will agree with you. If you can explain how telling people that there are other people who believe in a god is the equal to establishing religion, I would agree with you.

No, it is not. But teaching school kids beliefs is different from teaching them science.
Evolution theory is something that can be proven. Not as a source of the existing diversity of species, but as the way of life.
Creation is not a theory. It is a belief. It cannot be proven. And as such, it should not be taught alongside with theory of evolution, and any parallel between the two is an insult to an intelligence.

You Democrats are such Hippocrates its pathetic

How come only the negatives are brought out.... to me her positive attributes and accolades exceed the feeble arguments against her...

If she was a Democrat and Obama picked for a VP her all you left leaning wackos would be all over the choice... Putting her up there with the likes of Mother Theresa.

No way she would be a Democrat she is a class act....

Her biggest down fall according to all the pro death feminists, Is she has a strong moral fiber and did not consider aborting her new choice... That makes her unworthy to become VP or future President

No matter how you spin She has 36 months of Executive experience and has used veto and legislative powers.

Is a real role model for Family values never been in any scandal.
Is Pro Life not Pro Death
Works for a living, Home town hero...
Not a product of affirmative action....
Hates big Government. And Big Oil corruption.
Has actual experience as commander n chief of a large national guard. She did not vote against them and cut funding for them
Is a Hot 42 year old Mother of 5 (MILIF) sorry Todd..
Has 80% approval in her State
Wants to Drill in ANWR and is the only politician to have been there
Likes Automatic Weapons, Wont trash the 2nd amendment
Member of NRA
Husband is a Strong Union man
Gave up her oldest son to support our country. Not pretend she can be one of us and claim to understand the sacrifices of Veterans or family members of them...
Told Congress to shove it too the Bridge to no where
Did i mention she is hot.... Hey I'm 47 Shes hot IMO
Ill bet she can cook up some wicked Salmon or BBQ Caribou...
I got to hand it to McCain he stole Obamas day..... :applause:

She will be the next VP

So far what I've read about her that is going against her is her stance on abortion, and more importantly, her stance on teaching creationism in schools. The latter is a sign of very muddled thinking and that is very worrisome for someone who is a heartbeat away from being president.
Of course the religious nutjobs will love it, so I can see how she will solidify a lot of votes. Especially those who blame "gays and lesbians" for the 9-11 attacks. Heck, maybe McCain will get the Westboro congregation vote now. LOL

Still voting Libertarian. The only hope for this country to get where it should be.

I'm just asking...but is it true this woman has a 6 mos old baby with downs syndrome? Wouldn't this campaign be a distraction to raising a very young disabled child? How could Mccain even ask her knowing that this would take her away from her family? Seems weird.
