I didn't read through everything so sorry if this is a reapeat question. Does it only read ABS faults? Or does it read TC and HDC too? I know it can clear all three, just wanted to make sure it will read all faults for all systems.

Then how do YOU bleed them?

I have heard that you can bleed it buy setting off the ABS by dong a panic stop or engaging HDC.... I have never done that though...

Worth a try

The tool will read and clear the ABS fault codes. This includes all of the fault codes associated with the ABS, HDC and TC. These systems are all combined together in the SLABS unit.

I am also in the process of getting the complete library of steps to investigate each ABS fault code. This will allow each ABS fault code to have an associated series of steps for fixing the problem. I will make this information avaliable for free very shortly. Stay tuned.

I'm buying one....and sending this to the front of the forum for newbies to review. If you're keeping your disco for the long haul this would be a great tool!

Once I get the hardware (11,4 fault and overlay harness fault) fixed I'll be purchasing one of these. Just to be clear this tool does not "fix" the 3 (or 4) amigos rather it simply logs the faults and turns off the lights. In my case after a visit with mechanic the lights were off for a total of 5 seconds...until I had to use brakes leaving the parking lot...after which touching the brake pedal all 4 were happily illuminated.

For folks suffering the amigo problem read this ABS Mod post. Great information and they use the ABS modulator rebuild kit from Falcon Works. I have had alot of correspondence with the lead tech there and am convinced these guys know what they are talking about. I'm so convinced that I'm trying to work out a trip from San Diego to Tuscon to have them work on my Disco.

I like how on the Falcon Works site it says that if the $2200 Shuttle Valve kit doesn't work then check for faulty electrical connections.

I saw that. Talk about reverse trouble shooting. Kind of like how a certain member on a certain web site wants people to throw oxygen sensors at every truck with trouble codes.

You might as well have them replace your muffler bearings while you're over there.

I know the guy's at Falcon Works, they are a good shop and when I need a part overnight, there are my go to guys...BUT

They are the MOST EXPENSIVE SHOP in this hemisphere...

Find a local shop LR in San Diego...

Jimmy, you forgot about the blinker fluid also...

The MOST EXPENSIVE SHOP in this hemisphere... really?

There are two independent LR shops in my area. Both come in at $50 over what FW quoted me for a standard (disks and pads) brake job. When my Disco threw the 11,4 code and all 4 lights are illuminated my local shop said it will be $2500 (not including labor) for a new ABS and $250 to replace the faulting overlay harness. FW responds with let's diagnose the issue - check and clean connections - fix what we know are wear items - and go from there. My interaction with FW is they spend the time to diagnose and fix the problem rather than throw a ton of new parts at it HOPING it gets resolved.

Obviously you have not had your truck worked on around here. So what you're really saying is I like having a "go to guy" at the ready but F them otherwise? Just trying to get an idea of where you are coming from...

If you need blinker fluid I hear the shop Jimmy frequents is having a sale...dip shit.

Are you just posting useless crap or genuinely stupid?

I read on LRO that they need frequent replacement. I can't even change my own oil so I generally have my truck towed to Falcon Works for service:rofl:

I mean do you really think that they are some sort of super human Land Rover mechanics at FW? You have a simple problem, I'm sure there is an independent Land Rover shop closer to you that could take care of the problem.

That is quite the contrary to what their site says...

I'm a dipshit...so when you factor in the cost if gas for the 6 hour drive to/from Tucson each way, plus how many days the truck will be in the shop...blah,blah,blah, you sure it's gonna be cheaper? It's a common problem, and the shop that quoted you $2500.00 for the ABS modulator is covering their ass if they replace it with one purchased from a dealer. The 250 for a overlay harness is about right.

If you were smart and do need to replace the modulator, you'd buy one from one of the guys here (Marty, Paul Grant, Will) who part out trucks and have the local shop install it.

By the way, they are a great source for parts when I need them quickly...
