I put a Curt hitch on my 2008 LR3. Very easy install. Got it from Rock Auto for just over $100. It took about 40 minutes to install with about 30 of the minutes on the first bolt. Fed it through in the wrong spot and got it stuck for a few minutes. Other than that it was a piece of cake.

Does anyone in MN have an ABS code reader I could borrow?

I used a cheap one from Atlantic British and failed before it was 2 years old. Started leaking in the winter when it was about -20 and I pulled someone out of the ditch. Put an original one back in. No problems. It had a big heavy looking impeller that I thought looked cheap.

So do I take it by the lack of answers that no one in MN has an ABS Amigo that I could use?

I had one of these on my Disco II for a while. I much prefer the shifter as this was terribly slow in the winter in MN. It took forever to unlock while driving.

A Disco I transfer case shifter will not work on the Disco IIs that have the 4HP24 transmissions that came behind the 4.6. Missing the mount.

You need to use the 2004 CDL as you can't use a Disco I CDL shifter on a 4HP24.

Check to see if there are any codes stored. Go to a auto parts store and borrow their OBDII scanner and get the codes.

I used ATF for power steering fluid in all my other vehicles, including my Disco I. My Disco II did not like it. I tried other power steering fluid but have since switch to the correct stuff Land Rover recommends. My Disco II even when sitting out on cold -20* F days in MN works great. No more...

I had flipped mine, but it seemed to cause the hinges to start to wear more, so I flipped it back and made a spacer to mount it away and up. It keeps the tire closer to the hinges then when you flip the mount which pushes the tire away from the hinges.
