Good to know that I needed the lt230 crossmember! It is a SWB, so I guess the rear shaft will work. As far as the shifter linkage goes, the cable that is on the LT230 is trash. Do I have to replace it with another cable or can I get a shifter out of a DI?

My younger brother just got his first car and its an '89 RRC! We have a few mods on the way but the biggest thing we need to get done is an LT230 swap. My dad has had a "diff. lock" trasfercase that came off an '04 Disco II. Any idea if this is an LT230? will it fit on my brothers RRC?

I usually run my '03 on 91 but when I fill it with 87 I notice NO differance in performance or fuel mileage.

You need to provide more info. I dont even know what kind of vehical you have. If you have a series II Discovery I can tell you right now they will not fit. However a variatey of other steel wheels will because DII's have the same bolt patteren as a 2wd Chevy S10 wich is 5 on 4.75"

Yea, your correct. The track bar/panhard bar is nessasery on any coil sprung rig with radius arms or non-tri agulated control arms. It keeps the axle centered under the vechical. If you remove it, turn the steering wheel and see what happens.... its kinda interesting however never drive around...

next time...dont go so fast when going over rocks. :) I can walk faster than my Jeep when its in 4low 1st gear and I still think thats a little too fast (I have to refer to my Jeep because the Disco is still being built ;)
