I found one of my old posts and just wanted to add few comments (my apologies if this is not technical enough):
The truck is still my daily driver so has not been off-roaded much though plans were always grand. Kids are...
MontrealRR90 and Dominic,
I like what you guys have accomplished. I have been contemplating this mods since I bought our Disco in 2000. It too was due to all the electrical issues it has had and cost me a bundle to get fixed even though it was under warranty. Fuel pump, fuel pump relay, solenoid...
Nadim, you're nuts!! I like it! :D
I simply ran out of money few years ago, when the second kid was born and I was without a job for a while. Since then the TJ remains on 35s and Disco keeps rusting away and all the parts I gathered for it are on the sehlves. I hope to chop it up a bit once...
Are the coils same? Probably not but I'm just wondering as I can get new OME MD DII coils and would like to match them up with my OME MD DI coils on the front. I figured DII MDs might have a slightly higher load carrying capacity but not be as stiff as DI HDs. Anyway just wondering about the DI...
Not really. Pretty much all winter tires are useless off-road, even deep snow. Go for the BFG AT if you want good winter tire that's excellent on road and can be pretty good off-road. But it does suck in mud. Trxus MTs are good in the snow and they're nice on and off-road. Or you could go for...
For rocky and snowy Colorado I'd go with the MT/R. They really are not that good in mud but I find them almost as good in snow as tha ATs and in rocks they simply rock (pun intended). :D
They're also very good on road and overall seem to wear very well and last long.
Mine does that too after years of abuse. I figure it's a bit worn and the noise is the worm gears jamming against the case. But it keeps on ticking. :)
I'd be inclined to think CVs also, as I have never heard a TT "click". But we'll have to wait and see.
Have been observing 2 Electracs in D44 front axles on 2 different TJs for a while now. Indeed the best of both worlds. Limited slip when "open", a spool when "locked". I hope the do come out for the LR diffs.
I'd like a front passenger side window regulator (I have no idea if these are left and right oriented so just in case they are). Please email me. My email is in my profile. Thank you. :)
Kevin,
With TT you should not see any difference in front whether you have manual or auto. In the rear, you would feel difference between a Detroit Locker and Detroit TrueTrac with a manual, the TT being less noticeable while driving. With an auto, DL is less noticeable than with a manual and so...
Well, I'll agree with Sethmark, especially about the smaller rotational mass. That being the main reason I like aluminum alloy wheels. But I'll qualify it a bit. Cheap is cheap. Cheap aluminum rims are not as strong as forged aluminum rims but those strong aluminum rims are also heavy. Cheap...
