I've almost got my other D1 back on the road after the damn transfer case R&R.
I can't remember on the O2 sensor harness what side red plugs go to. :o
Nothing left but the O2 wires and the drive shafts!
So now that that my t-case is all sealed up and back in the truck (fingers crossed) I was going to adjust the linkage for the CDL. (It is set so far forward I can't get to the low range)
In going through the linkage I realized it wasnt going to be the usual nut and linkage adjustment down at...
After all the work to get this damn thing out ,re-sealed and put back in the truck, I think I missed a seal and need your input on this.
There is one bolt on the front side of the transfer case, that bolts the t-case to the trans (head of the bolt faces the front of the truck) This bolt is one...
So my daily D1 was rescued from an idiot here in Denver that did ZERO maintenance. I bought it a couple months ago knowing it was a complete disaster. This thing was so bad when I got it, it looked like the suspension was made out of balloon animals!
This weekend I'm going to pull the center...
I need to know if anyone has a cross ref part for the gasket between the Y pipe and the muffler. I have the damn thing all apart and there is no gasket in there. Damn previous owner, no wonder it sounded so bad.
I have until 8pm mountain time. tick tock....
You guys have always come through with the tough ones in the past, so let's get this one figured out. :patriot:
So driving home from work in a new beater D1 I bought, with the AC on, the engine just dies while driving in traffic. Waited 3 or 4 minutes and it starts up runs for 3 or 4 minutes...
I have done all this trouble shooting so I can list as much information as possible. I hate trying to help when there is a lack of info as much as anyone.
Since the problem started...
When my 96 D1 is cold it starts fine. It does take a couple of extra rotations before it fires up lately...
So my 96 SE7 seats look like a sloppy bag of dicks with all the rips and cracks.
Just for curiosity sake I took it to an upholstery guy to get a quote to recover these seats (both front and rear) It came out to over $2000.00, and that was not leather just a substitute that will wear way better...
I need to find out what my choices are for buying new o2 sensors. I have $200.00 in gift cards on Amazon I need to use. There are plenty on there that say they are a fit but I'm not sure due to the advanced evaporative system or lack there of. My o2 connectors are 4 wire. I just don't want to...
Getting ready to get in the old beat up Disco and start my trip to Iowa for the Chump Car Nationals race. I'm a driver for team Rally Imprezive. I will be living in the Disco for three days and will be driving back on Monday. This is the first long trip since I did all the drivetrain work. I did...
Has anyone here had their garage door on the house raised to allow a lifted truck with racks and lights to pull in so you can work on it?
I have invested a lot of time, money and labor to set up a garage that makes working on all my cars and trucks so much better. I don't want to be stuck...
So we all know the brake switch that is triggered by the brake pedal arm is a bad design. I have used land rover parts as well as a couple from Oreilly, they have all failed with in a year or so.
Has anyone had any luck with a particular brand of these? Delco, BWD, Master pro etc.
I did figure...
I thought it would be appropriate to drop a thread to reintroduce myself before I start contributing after being gone for such a long ass time. I'm Brian
My 96 D1 had been sitting for a couple years in the garage with everything needing work and broken down. There was no way I could just sell...
My 96 D1 is not downshifting into 1st all time when I stop. When I pull away it starts off in 2nd for less than a second then drops into 1st. When I manually select the gears it always gets the right one.
It bounces from time to time between 3rd and 4th at around 50 mph or so if I'm going up a...
OK so I've been working all weekend replacing a shitload of drivetrain parts, now I'm replacing the Rotoflex that is swiss cheese.
The bushing that is in the trailing end of the driveshaft is shot and I have the new one ready to go in...
How The F*ck Do You Get That Bushing Out...
'96 D1
I think there is a relay sticking that controls the parking/interior dash lights. No lights come on on first detent. No usual relay 'click' either. Fuses are good.
Anyone know the location of a relay I can test before I start tearing up the switch on the colum?
Thanks!
I was putting together a good playlist for rebuilding the front end on my D1 and found the AC/DC video for "Cover You In Oil" that might have a Rover in it.
I watched it like 3 times before I even saw the trucks!
Can anyone verify what rigs these girls are workin on...
Last ditch effort to save my D1 with 190,000 miles
Here are the symptoms:
When cold the trans will shift into all four gears without a problem. After about 4 or five blocks at speed, the trans will drop from OD into 3rd.
Within a about 10 to 20 seconds it then shifts from 3rd to 2nd. Once...
