Expedition Exchange BS... Go drunk in CO while driving!

Maybe Roger removed the S/C exhaust and tail lamps and replaced them with the naturally aspirated parts -- for a much more elegant look. That must be the answer. I can't believe any MK3 owner would stoop to the level of turning that beautiful truck into a poser.

    Damn LR3

Garrett, what exactly is your 'beef' ?. Land Rover have gone and brought a product to market which is superior in every measurable way to its predecessor, the Discovery II. The LR3 is more capable (by far) offroad than the series II, it is a quantum leap on-road, it is quieter, more spacious...

    Damn LR3

Bigger than 265/75/16 on RTE 2" on D2?

I suppose it comes down to what you are comfortable with. DI's, Defenders, and DII's break CV's on stock tires (29" on Discoverys and 32" on Defenders), this is a known fact. Frank Rafka (Mongo), and many others even here on this board can attest to the weakness of the CV's, again, this is a...

Bigger than 265/75/16 on RTE 2" on D2?

BFG 255/85-16 do not "fit fine". They will physically fit inside the wheelwell, however, this is far from "fitting fine". They will rub severely on articulation and for a proper job will require uprated axles, re-gearing, and a good plan for broken front CV's .

CDL conversion on DII-has anybody taken steps to disable the SLABS?

Frank, that was the case with earlier model versions, not 2003.

CDL conversion on DII-has anybody taken steps to disable the SLABS?

Paul, as i stated in my earlier post, the SLABS ECU has no way of knowing that the CDL is engaged (or not) if you simply add a CDL enabled T-case and the necessary linkage to lock the center diff. The system will work perfectly as you propose to do the job. It only gets complicated if you (or...

CDL conversion on DII-has anybody taken steps to disable the SLABS?

Not applicable to "all" 2003 MY's. The entire procedure described above only applies if the SLABS ECU 'sees' the CDL being engaged, otherwise it is unecessary.

    DEALERSHIP Help Please

If in fact a LR field supervisor has been contacted and the dealer was given the above information regarding the repair, then that would fully explain their (the dealers) position regarding the TA. They will not be payed (from LR) for the engine replacement under warranty and are not willing...

    DEALERSHIP Help Please

Agreed, the job should have been carried out as specified on LR's TA, but it wasn't. If that proves to be the underlying reason why they are now refusing to carry out the work on the TA (they don't want to eat the invested work they have in your truck so far) then as i stated, it would be in...

    DEALERSHIP Help Please

I would push to determine why they are resisting to perform the engine R&R, there must be some underlying issue there. I mean, the TA clearly states that the engine must be replaced, and LR will pay for the repair under warranty, assuming that there is (in fact) no revision to the contrary, i...

    DEALERSHIP Help Please

So they are claiming that there is a revised TA (from LR) for satisfactory repair of the failure. You have asked to see the "revised" TA and they have refused to show it to you. You have insisted on seing this "revised" procedure document and they simply will not show it to you. why not ...

    DEALERSHIP Help Please

Ben, why is the dealer refusing to perform the repair (that they would be fully paid for from LR) as outlined on the TA ? What reason are they giving you for not following the procedure that LR specifies (and pays for) ?

DIIs with bigger than 265-75s on a 3" lift

So you have the big tires and lots of lift, what have you done to increase the strengh of your (now far beyond their intended service parameters) stock components ? Have you upgrated your axles ? have you re-geared the truck to gain back lost power and compression braking ? have you addressed...
