With my ~5" lift on 33s (Huge rack on it too), I was getting 11.75mpg avg. After gutting my cats I'm now averaging 12.6 mpg. Nice little bump. Still some crappy gas mileage, but its a fun truck.
When it was almost stock I'd get 13-14mpg avg. It always sucked.... gas.
WOW!! That sounds scary. Guess it not bad if the tires are still mounted. Never thought of that as a viable option before. I just might try it for kicks and giggles sometime.
The N107 and N107c are the same length, just different valving. I sure you wont like the N107c over time. The N107 is a big improvement over stock in ever facet, unless you have really bad hemorriodes. Then you would get the N107c.
Both are just a .5" longer than stock.
BTW: Ho, thanks...
They both carry an 'N' designate i.e. N107 or the N107c. The N107c being the "comfort" shock, which means it has a lower damping rate than the N107. Probably not a good choice for a Disco. Go with the N107. They will be fine for a ~3" lift for sure. I run a ~5" lift and they still have...
Dude... Just leave it and instead spend the time mowing some lawns or some thins and save a couple hunnid for some shocks. I might have some OMEs available soon for cheap.
You can get 12mm inserts from eshocks.com they're like $15 for the set. Or get the poly bushings. I have the inserts, but now want to go poly. Look for the recent thread for part#s.
If he has to replace the shocks anyway, he may as well waste the stockers until he finds the ones he wants to replace them with. With a 3" lift he still has a couple of inches before they top out.
If it rides fine, then it should be nothing to worry about. There have been a few people that...
As long as it drives pretty straight without any bump steer, I'd leave it be. A crooked steering will is no big deal. You get used to it.
Yeah, it looks close to four inches. You can remove the crossmember and be fine as well.
I'm rolling close to 5" and dont have any steering issues...
I basicly converted mine for FREE! A local rover shop gave me a set of OME 751 springs and a pair of D1 spring seats for free after I had some work done there. I found a set of 762 springs for $40 (the guy threw in a pair of 1 inch spacers). And I bought a used set of OME shocks off Ebay for...
You will be fine with the stock shocks on a two inch spacers. The OMEs have the same travel as stock but are a 1/2 inch longer. You might want to watch your brake and ABS lines up front since you will have 2"s more droop with the spacers.
If your just going 2" you could even getaway w/o a...
