    Intermittent missfire and poor performance

Excellent write-up so thanks for taking the time. I too have similar issues and scanned and sure enough it was the CKPS showing-up. It only happens when I get wet and once dry she runs like a champ. I pulled the harness several years ago and only resealed the wires as best I could, but now I...

    stupid starter question

Well, I predicted putting that stupid heat shield was going to be a PITA, and yes it was. The most difficult part was getting that bolt through the engine mount bracket to align with the heat shield nut... an hour of cussing. It's on and I ever have to do this again, you bet that heat shield is...

    stupid starter question

My bendix drive was failing with greater frequency so it was time to tackle this task which I see so many folks complain about. I am an average wrencher and have watched others far better cuss the removal of the starter motor. Well, I was surprised how easy this really was. I removed the heat...

    Front end recovery options

I ran a stock front bumper for many years but I had Jate rings. Not always easy to reach but they held great. Adding a D-ring to the Jate.... no thanks, I used only straps in the Jates. I was nearly a victim of someone's poor welding skills when a big snatch ripped a portion of this guys...

    D1 Rust Options

AlaskaKaz, Scottsdalerrc hit on what I did, used POR15. I ripped the entire interior out, sanded, treated with Metal Ready and painted POR15 on the entire floor up to 1 inch around all walls. Then I replaced the factory padding (just a big-ass sponge) with that rubber garage-flooring stuff...

    Window Lift ECU

Yea, good catch, but I forgot to add that as my very first step. I am so used to going directly to the damn fuses whenever any e-gremlins show-up... I just simply overlooked that step in my not-so-detailed details. But thanks D.

    Window Lift ECU

Yea, this is an old thread, but I thought I would revive based on what I found. Problem, rear windows no longer work and they were down, so I could not drive her until fixed. First - pulled the console window switch and checked for power, nothing. Second - Pulled the Window ECU. Touched up a...

    bad stepper motor=no start?

If that IACV does not do the trick, well at least you have some other items to consider. They are all right there at your fingertips, just waiting for your attention. I love the system, hate the thought a single sensor can bring you to your knees. I have come close several times to yank it all...

Engine Surges at speed, under acceleration

On my D1, I have had a fault for years, however these are the sensors behind the Cat, not in front, so no performance issues. If I were you I would pull the MAF and clean it. Another option to consider before you consider throwing expensive sensor parts at this problem is find a trusted mechanic...

    bad stepper motor=no start?

Items to check if you have not already. Your multi-plug that connects the coil-packs, sometimes come loose allowing a start but not stay running due to vibration. You will get misfires. Manifold Temp sensor, test it. Pull and clean your MAF with Electrical Parts cleaner (some folks shy from this...

    not starting

I agree with Gadams. A spinning starter that does not engage the flywheel means your bendix drive is bad, besides the other electrical issues you describe, once resolved, I think you still have a bad bendix drive. Pull the starter and see if you can get it rebuilt or pony-up for a new starter...

    Issue After TruTrac Install

Caveat: if the 4 tires are the same.... otherwise you will notice a difference. BTW, do not move this issue to the back since it is still an issue, just no nagging steering pull to remind you that something is not correct.

    Issue After TruTrac Install

I have TT's F/R and mine are sensitive to about 5 Lbs in the front tire pressure when I notice a pull. This could be the issue, but if your tire pressure is equal L&R, then I would suspect suspension issues such as bushings. I had the same issue until I replaced both bushings on the frame of...

    Another Stuck Key Problem

I have been putting off this issue of a sticky ignition switch for 3 years and it finally got so bad my wife and daughter said they are afraid to drive it for fear of not getting the truck started. So back to D-web with the review of options. I was hell-bent on taking Chapman?s route with the...

    Rovertym ?

However you grade RTE's responsiveness, the owners had to make a choice to work IN the business as opposed to ON the business. I too own my own business and I am always faced with the decision to get involved with a cool project or step aside and continue to grow the business. I have that...

    Who makes good hand winches?

I too have a Moore Power Puller and I have used my HighLift as my winch as well, both several times. The Power Puller is much simpler to use than the HL, but that is not saying much. The times I needed these were to either winch backwards or to pull the rear-end sideways. They have their place...

    ECU Re-Locate - Options?

Snow, hmmm, I've seen it on TV. I'll stick with sand and mud, but yes, love to see pictures Paul even if that is sometime in April... It takes a hardy soul to live on snow.

    ECU Re-Locate - Options?

Thanks Paul. Nadim mentioned adapters. I guess I am having trouble understanding what that means. To me I interpret that as a set of male/female plugs for each of the 3 wire looms but I am unsure if these adapters are already wired, like a pre-fabed extension or if these adpters require you to...

    Squeal!!!

I have a D1, so can't help with the part #s. However, I am on my 3rd Serp-belt and both times when I put my new belt on, my bearing in the pulley started to scream. $10 bearing at NAPA, all better each time.
